In 2005 I live next to a railway. I could tell when the trains left the station a few kilometers away, because the peak current would make my crt image vibrate.

The lost air through the hole was not sustainable. The entire ring had fallen into disrepair. That was a major plot point. The terrible failure mode was typical for the extreme arrogance of the ringworld engineers.

Doesn’t it test a lot of redundant palettes? Like 1,2,3 is equivalent to 3,2,1 and 1,3,2.

You can ask it to write in the style of a pirate or a 1950s movie gangster. I’m sure it could do a rudimentary Linus Torvalds.

Does xfce do a lot of the graphics in software? That is very inefficient on modern hardware.

It is a big step up from the current digital assistants like Apples Siri. Just that it can keep a context and refer back to it is a huge step. But creativity and consistency is still lacking. I tried using ChatGTP as a dungeon master, and I

A long lived feature branch is not a problem if you rebase it to master often. Move all refactoring to the beginning of the branch and merge them to master if they become too many.

People don’t just google every word they think of. They google what they want to know more about. Is it so unlikely that more people want to know about a clothing brand than a vegetable?

At work we use Gitlab. The feature to only allow fast-forward merges to master is awesome. The result is a linear history, that is much easier to bisect. It also encourages developers to make small commits, since they are easier to rebase.

Lol. Because it is a shit implementation. In sweden, even garage sales etc have been cashless since at least 5 years back. People just send each other money with an app. Even small vendors accept payment that way. Larger stores accept cash,

I like to make burgers. Mostly, I have used just salt and pepper for seasoning, but sometimes also onion and paprika powder. Then I realized the cheap “grill spice mix” contains exactly that. Why not just use that? It is very convenient to

When swiping between fullscreen windows, Macos sends the keystrokes to the last window until the animation has completed. The ”g” of all my git commands ends up in vs code if I’m too quick. Very annoying.

The law is fine. Great even. It is just that most websites don’t comply and developers misunderstand it. You can freely use cookies like we used to do, for session id’s, shopping carts etc. Once you add stuff to your shopping cart, you have

Snap traps work great. Mice are INCREDIBLY stupid. I set some snap traps at my cottage. I ran out of almonds, but I was too lazy to go inside for more, so for the last trap I just used an acorn. Sure enough, it caught a mouse. With thousand

Rewriting/porting the Linux kernel would be a massive undertaking, and guaranteed to introduce new bugs. Not something you would do without massive benefits. Rust with its safety guarantees has those benefits in a way no other language
