If you don't "Like" anything, what would they spam your friends about, in your name? (Maybe it's obvious from my question that I don't use Facebook.)

Yep. In theory the shareholders could sue a corporation for not doing something to increase profit, including stuff that hurts people.

It's not a frivolous lawsuit when millions have been harmed even to a small degree. Plus it's not a small degree; it's a rather large fine per text. Whether the fine should have been enacted by Congress is debatable; whether it should be pa

People will want a Cancel button because they don't want to be asked a question at that time, but then they'll want to be able to answer (or change the answer) to the question later; e.g. on an options screen.

When the majority of voters are clamoring for Google Fiber or the equivalent, things would change in a hurry, to ensure politicians' re-elections. Putting Google Fiber somewhere creates demand elsewhere.

I concur with 35636. Compound interest was the old era. The new era is "pay the piper". Returns will no longer be fueled by $trillions in federal borrowing. Instead they'll be greatly pressured downward (perhaps to negative levels) by auste

One thing to factor into the equation is that taxes on 401K money are paid eventually anyway. Taxes will almost certainly be higher in the future, but offset by possibly lower income (the annual draw from the 401K). You get compounding in t

I don't think a prediction of a Romney loss would significantly spur Romney voters. As one example of many in my life, a co-worker voted for Romney because Obama "tanked his 401K". These are not people who (on average) read real news, IMO.

Good points. A solution would be to give everyone a receipt for their vote, with an anonymous copy that can be put into an exit poll bin. And something equivalent for mail-in voters.
