For those interested in jQuery alternatives- I've been waiting for jQuery 4.0 soooo long I ended up making my own jQuery with some key differences: * Animations, tweens, timelines use pure CSS, instead of jQuery's custom syste

IMHO Jinja was never worth salvaging. It's a bandaid for not being able to mix Python and HTML easily. Super slow parsing. Unintuitive DSL (opinionated enough to be a PITA). Huge LoC vs the value it contributes to your project. Adopt a

As an extension writer... Writing extensions in Lua is huge. (Same as OBS) Looks very simple and productive. It's one of the main reasons I've stuck to Sublime... extending with Python is very easy and works everywhere. Even if bo

Re: CockroachDB vs Planetscale. It's all about the price per core of the CockroachDB license. In my understanding, last time I talked to sales it's approximately 3x worse (because Planetscale offers 1 primary + 2 replicas) with Co

Kind of... Certain extensions such as basic backups are closed source and have never been in the OSS version. Many things would have to be re-added from scratch in a fork.
