I know they are capable of more, but I also tire of people being so enamored with "bootstrap a brand new app" type AI coding - like is that even a big part of our job? In 25 years of dev work, I've needed to do that for comm

Yeah independent of commuting, I'd not want to work for my company if I had to spend a lot of time with my coworkers in person. You want people to gel like that in person and I'd need really different demographics. Online it

It was a long time ago, but probably did qualify. However it was just what was normal to do and didn't see a need to have them provide lunch.

Yeah I don't get it, we've always packed a lunch for our kids as a matter of fact and it's not much money or work. Same as I growing up and we were quite poor for the US.

I agree but clearly Vercel benefits from teams choosing SSR, so teams need to take it with a grain of salt.

Just having conventions around routing, and a "just works" build & lint is nice to avoid a team bikeshedding their own solutions. (Please don't suggest react-router... which seemingly reinvents itself every couple years)

Had a Vectrex bought on clearance from Toys R Us, sold it long ago unfortunately. I randomly though still have its Lightpen in my drawer here, any retro hardware aficionados need it?

From the buying side this sounds like good news, not that prices or interest rates are good deals now, but that sellers aren't holding out for higher prices, etc and conceding a bit. This would help put pressure on prices to moderate.

Canvas can be quick yes, but I was surprised recently when I tried converting an animated image overlay thing I had written in SVG to canvas. I was expecting huge speedups, but it was no faster or smoother with the same data model. I need

Yes I'm sure canvas is still quick, but I've run into teams doing really elaborate things in canvas, d3, etc for what amount to really simple graphs where they'd have been much better off with normal DOM elements and events i
