I wonder if epigenetics [1] can also explain some of what you're saying. Genes can be regulated in different ways - and that can explain differences in identical Twins. [1] http://www.livescience.com/25431-gene-regulati

Not really a challenge to Apple. Apple doesn't care about books. Any garden you buy an ebook in can be read on an iOS device via ereader apps, including Scribd's app. Apple is happy to let app publishers innovate on software produ

Correction. Apple's A7 is fabricated by Samsung. It is wholly designed by Apple. They're just using Samsung's foundry.

Also known as the internet. j/k It's a great idea. What I'd love to see is a way for you to be able to check out physical books in ebook form, maybe by scanning their ISBN while you're browsing the stacks.

Drucker famously said that the price of something has nothing to do with it's cost. The market doesn't care how inefficient you are at picking tomatoes. The fact is, you'll be out of business because there will be other farms

You're right. I jumped the gun on that. But Amazon knows that consumer pressure will cajole publishers to fall in line. Also, Wholesale is a club they can wield when they negotiate with publishers to join in on matchbook.

Much of Apple's metoric rise in the 2000s was from destroying everyone in mp3 players and then 2008, a thing called the iPhone. And selling lots of those.
