You have to pick the instance type beforehand. Back when I asked about this in the alpha, I was told changing the size of the instance flushes the cache on the basic instance and has some downtime. I can confirm this happens now that resizi

Currently, the only available version is 3.2, so that's a no.

It's not an alternative implementation. I've been on the alpha and some of the bugs were actually bugs in the OSS redis.

That's not true. panic.com has an A record (and www is a CNAME to @) that points to an IP address that's not PI and advertised only as part of 38.0.0.0/8, obviously, only from Cogent.

That subscriber link above explains why, but in the whitepaper I read, it said Broadwell, not only Skylake.

What worries me is that those tests are with unpatched kernels. So these drops are only from the microcode updates?!

You won't need a microcode update. The microcode update is only needed for Broadwell and newer (for those, retpolines don't work). Also, hello, fellow 2600k owner :D

It's okay, retpolines are similarly so for C++: https://reviews.llvm.org/D41723 Again, obviously, not all indirect jumps need this, but still, Intel's fix might be even worse.

Because transliteration. Fuck Cyrillic and Bulgarians' idea of how to move to and from Latin. Edit: Okay, I take it back. The Bulgarian official transliteration does it right.
