All those things you are flagging just don’t really seem that important versus having a 3 Day Weekend Society - Seasons shift, who cares... - Law overhaul (this is the ask, make it the law...) - Consistent tracking mechanism (we aren’t thro

Eh. I disagree there could just be two running in parallel for a bit or even forever: original and modern. 3 day weekend society

So true. I floated this idea before: Why as people do we not just add an extra day to the week between Saturday and Sunday? Who cares about official calendar? Make all months 4 days longer. All work weeks still 5 days. All monthly : 30 day

On a new MBP M1 w16GB RAM it is really snappy. For a mere thousands of dollars you can join the fun. I imagine by M2 though this golden year will be far gone as everyone increases even more how much resources their apps eat.

Agree. I keep calling that Serverless 2.0. 1.0 being basically a fast cache clearing CDN. Workers is so cool but the starting point is a a bit rough. It looks like they have big plans and will eventually have a full pipeline vs the current

Congrats to these folks! Absolutely killing it and great product. Hopefully it doesn't get harder and harder to use Next.js on anything but Vercel.

Or, if you cancel your Amazon account it doesn’t immediately stop all AWS billing. It is — kid you not — recommended to terminate your individual services to avoid additional billing. Technical limitation of a trillion dollar company? I say

This is so misdirected... We need transparency, not this. How is there not some sort of regulation to allow me to opt-out or configure these algorithms that target me for ads of curated content? It's my f*cking data!

Didn’t read this before commenting but you are exactly right. There is NO good starting point for developers beyond snippets. - Vercel as a framework they can modify around their platform - Netlify is just easy to use and welcoming / f

IMO: Cloudflare Workers are far superior but there are basically no frameworks to really leverage the power of all that tech. If you had a next.js app why on earth would you NOT use Vercel thinking long term. For Cloudflare, yeah a static s

Exactly. Little more clarification here though I think... Flexibility of Cloudflare KV reads in general still yield quick enough results and make doing a quick and dirty cache a pretty good use case IMHO. But Worker Sites specifically also

Eh, I still disagree. Chat is definitely needed and important but nothing ever gets lost really by “tossing out random questions” in Front. I would rethink twice how you are communicating in the work place. I find that messy and then forces

To say “slackifying” is offensive to Front. I HATE Slack. For me, it turns into a gross “pinging you” and overall is insanely annoying to be in channels and check back on information. Or, finding files or using search is Hell. Not to mentio

Benchmarking if a 4K video takes 15 or 16 seconds to export is cool, but the universal App Store could be revolutionary and a huge money making opportunity for developers. It’s likely why Apple wanted this so bad. The cost savings from Inte

I predict with enough time this will become a standard practice. So much so that in enough time, many company's will stop supporting Intel on Mac entirely (aka, <2020 Macs)

The best thing about this is being able to run natively iOS apps (with new chips). I'll probably never open another Electron app on desktop again. Wonder how the file management works.

Any MBP with Fantel chips (brand new, no dust) is so quick to just gun it with the fan noise - slack, chrome, electron apps, second monitor. I think I would rather take a small performance hit and some heat than have Apple quick to pull the

So performant premium that I’m thinking of calling Apple about my MBP preorder and switching it to the Air. Last thing I need is a MacBook Air equivalent with an unnecessarily loud and annoying fan.
