Learn to code on paper or a whiteboard without the use of a computer. I bought myself a whiteboard just to practice the usual programming questions. Good luck!

I think the annotated screenshots might suffice short of an entire video that demos the app. I don't view those demo videos but I don't know if it's an effective marketing tool or not. I prefer the annotated screenshots :) But yeah, I do fe

Hi there, it sounds like a really neat app. Love the clean look of the app. However, maybe it's because of my monitor colours but everything looks pretty faint with the minimalist theme. I can't really see the various tasks that you've pick

Agreed. And in Malaysia, the mostly the only way to obtain that score is brute memorization of facts.

Thanks for sharing. I appreciate the part about providing for family. It's never easy when you have other people who depend on you and so it's comforting to hear of others who are in a similar situation.

Businesses need money to survive. You can't really scale your startup to 100 million users without having to pay for your servers. Product engagement and retention does not automatically bring in the cash.

This sounds similar to what Rypple is doing: http://rypple.com/ From the comments, it seems like no one has tried to game the system but I'm wondering if in a large corporation, anyone would try to game it?

If you can potentially generate more than $18k/month by being more focused on your core product, why not? As raganwald mentioned earlier, Jack Welch of GE got out of areas even when they were making money. They only stayed in if they can be

I think it's easier said than done. Sure, with more users on Android and the potential of making money getting higher by the day, there's hope. But as we've seen, Android's really fragmented and as a developer, providing support to all your

Maybe we because we don't know better. Or we're happy to think that complexity makes us feel as if we're smart. But these days, scientists and engineers are looking at mother nature for examples: http://www.popsci.com/technology/article/20

It's a very interesting idea and as a Buddhist, I absolutely commend you for trying to help people learn compassion. I'm curious to know if compassion can actually be built through a digital relationship. Personally, I feel that words typed

There's hardly ever any market where you can get perfect information. If the retail investors weren't so bought up by the hype of Facebook, they wouldn't be screwed over. Greedy retailers got screwed.

True. But from a business perspective, how can Coke or GM quantify whatever they get back from that particular user though? At this point, I don't think they can unless they can tie in a whole bunch of other data which would probably raise

I agree with the knack of queuing being missing in different cultures. In Malaysia, when the traffic lights go out, it's absolute deadlock.

I agree with your last statement. I don't think people on Facebook are looking to buy anything and hence, why it hasn't really been successful. People on Facebook go to have fun and interact with their friends - not buy stuff.

My background's in CS and I've mostly been a web developer for several years. Only know the normal SQL stuff but wouldn't consider myself an expert. I'm also interested in OLAP but I can't seem to find anything on it other than what it is.

Not sure but it is a fine line to walk on and it's not easy to distinguish where that line is drawn. Most of the things that are considered racist here in Canada seem mild in Asia. Some things in Asia considered racist aren't as bad here. I
