I think maybe my point wasn't clear enough, I agree with you. I was trying to point out that with experience you know where to start testing so you can focus on fixing the pain points that will have the biggest impact. A/B testing is an imp

It's more that A/B testing will find the local maxima; you might get a 0.1% improvement to conversion by making the "Add to cart" a better color, but you could get a 1% improvement by streamlining the checkout flow. A lot of this comes from

Exactly. Maybe a better name would be ConnectionFactory? This could then have multiple ConnectionPools internally for sync vs. async if needed. It's certainly better than polluting the whole code base with the logic required to instantiate

I've never had a problem with Spamhaus, it's straightforward enough to get removed from the list if needed. It's way worse dealing with providers such as Hotmail and Yahoo who arbitrarily block mail. I'd argue that 99% of businesses are bet

This also ignores reality; the top 500 retailers account for around 75% of the market, the rest make up a really long tail. After the top 1000 or so you're looking at retailers who make around $12,000 in revenue a month. Optimistically you'

This is a really narrow-minded perspective, and quite incorrect. Oracle and IBM will continue to do well in big organisations where the company isn't IT-focused, and where the license cost makes sense. I see a lot of big Oracle HA configura

I don't think it really matters how many customers you have. Your goal isn't to build brand awareness at this point, it's to get the visitor to provide their email. It's a great example of a landing page that clearly lays out the problem an

The soft drink market is tough, you are fighting against two huge incumbents with a lot of power and money. Being purchased be one of them after you achieve a certain level of (local) success is one of the few options for a successful exit.

I think it's more of an issue that developers consider their options to be SQL or NoSQL when the option of using both often is a great choice. You can pick the best technology to solve individual aspects of the system. For example, the curr
