Yup. But local, provincial and national elections are different events. Referendums are occasionally attached. Ballots are almost always one question for provincial and national.

Canadian here. We still count ballots the old fashioned way and get our election results out the night of the election (typically). Presumably that scales linearly.. more voters means more ballot boxes and more officials counting and auditi

I came here to say basically this. I'm not a scientist but I live in a heavily forested and logged area with 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation forests (ie, logged 1-3 times in the last 150 years or so). Here's my observation: - old grow

Highly recommend if your concern is ads and pay to win. It's like when Netflix first started streaming -- content is all over the place but at least there aren't any ads. Definitely enough gems in the collection.

Back when it was popular to have a flat structure or no managers or whatever I started suggesting "Every type of management works until money gets tight." I think the principle still applies, but a more useful/general version

I was thinking the cheeky thing to do is charge $100,000 for the in app version. It’s technically there but even if someone clicked it almost no cc would allow the charge through.

That's not the point in this specific scenario -- noting this as "importantly" indicates you believe this is no big deal. People are often arrested and released without charge. It's a tactic to get people out of a situat

I agree with your generalization. Here's another: Companies will completely disregard this information and will base the amount of office space and WFH policies based on the cost of real estate post COVID19. I predict that when the vir

My general rule in these cases: "1 is the worst number of times to do something" -- 84M for documentation for 2 airplanes seems like a lot. It looks a lot better if you have 84 airplanes or 8,400 airplanes. Alternatively, cost isn

This is not a model of working I’m familiar with. I work as collaboratively as possibly with my reports and my manager. 1:1 meetings are my most important. If I’m not discussing the non-obvious challenges we face, we are sharing our goals o

It’s never one thing. Also consider crazy low interest rates and lax borrowing controls making it easy to borrow large amounts of money. This makes it easy to invest/fund companies, easy to pay more to your employees and easier for the

As a Vancouver local, I can't recall ever hearing about termite damage. I don't know if we have them here. I've heard a few cases of carpenter ants eating walls. Woodpeckers can be a problem -- they will occasionally try to n

Two things: 1) I am currently building a house. Pretty much every comment here is dead on. It's hard. Especially the first time. And especially anything that isn't "standard" will cost about 2x more than what you expect.
