I thought it was a story about cars and tech when I first started reading it. It wasn't until the article talks about dents and such that I realized this wasn't the focus.

Articles like this are the cyclist equivalent of pro vegan propoganda. It's all doom and gloom and tilted towards a very extremist view with no room for other views or ways of life. Cycle only or you're killing the planet. Eat onl

> Your investment plan should be aimed, first and foremost, at preserving what you have—preserving it from investment loss, government intervention, or mismanagement. The advice is decent and normal, but I really love how regular advice

> Relocating offices or asking employees to move can sometimes be read as layoffs in disguise, since a certain percentage of workers won’t be able to relocate. I think this is definitely true. I also expected this was the case for Yahoo.

The Apple Sage are the only ones I don't like, but I'm definitely in the minority. The Chipolte ones are an acquired taste, but amazing on a hotdog bun with some mozza while camping.

For me, Slashdot was the first big internet community. I wasn't materially involved in news groups before that. It's a little weird to think I wasn't 20 when I started using /. I was also a little surprised to see there&

Dear world, Please stop writing articles that argue laws need to be changed to make cycling safer so that more people ride bikes. It immediately signals to me that the article is strongly biased towards cyclists. Cyclists do need to be prot

I read this book in 2007 when it came out and loosely followed its advice. It changed my life. I dropped 30 pounds, 2 shirt sizes and several inches off of my waist. His "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants." mantra is about the

My biggest complaint about C : SQL-like interface. These seems like a terrible decision to me. If you are used to relational databases and SQL, it's a real struggle to get your head in the right place. Some of the gotchas: Cell level

That's the nature of 4wd -- take a modern jeep, but it in 4wd on dry pavement and feel it lurch and moan because it can't slip. Put it in 4lo and on dry pavement and it'll lurch so hard your face will go through the windshiel

The desk is constantly going up and down. Depends on what I'm working on, how my back is feeling (dealing with a herniated disc). I actually spend a lot of time pacing on the phone right now, so I may have it up for an hour phone call

Yeah, it's easy to say that, but you're assumptions are wrong. Spending time and breaking flow waiting for a desk to go up/down is a waste. I can keep typing and focusing while the desk goes up and down. Also, I don't st

RE: muzzled scientist issue being overblown. I'm Canadian. I have scientist friends. I can say this was not overblown. Funding was cut. Programs that were decades old were shut down. Data that contradicted the government was buried.
