Right now, in the wake of the most significant financial crisis in decades and with the country staring down enormous structural deficits, the most contentious issue is whether it's fair to let tax cuts expire for people making more than $2

It's telling that most of the comments on this article are the usual iPhone vs. Android arguments. I just don't see the interest out there for another smartphone platform to survive, particularly one which is so far outside the interface no

I've worked for healthcare and education startups. These are very, very hard markets for a startup to tackle. They combine the slow, expensive sales cycle of a large business with the regulation and bureaucracy of essential government servi

I was being facetious, but I do partly agree with you. A bad name does hurt. Wesabe isn't a good name; it comes off as syllable salad. Mint is a much better name. On the other hand, plenty of successful companies have terrible names. 'Googl

The most bizarre aspect of law school is that students take on enormous debts even though they don't actually learn how to practice law. It isn't the sign of a healthy market when there are a huge number of people who can't afford represe

There is no country where programmers are as well paid as the US. Even in Canada, where cost-of-living and salaries are normally comparable, programmers are paid at least 20-30% less. I'm not sure why, but it's a dramatic difference. Of cou

South Korea was a often-brutal military dictatorship until the late 1980s. The US was there to stop Communism, not foster democracy. If South Korea is a better place today, it's because of the Koreans themselves far more than the US.
