It was meant as a rebuttal to Steve Jobs proclaiming the iPad offers "the best browsing experience you've ever had" which is simply not true. While it's true that other "dirty secrets" (some of which you listed) are more important, it doesn

I would have to disagree. My Droid also has 256 mb of memory, and I can have more pages open at once without it having to flush pages. This is still true with Pandora running in the background. Overall I'm a fan of the iPad, it just falls s

The lack of tabs didn't surprise me, but the way the iPad OS poorly handled memory management did.

The video at first seems slightly condescending, but goes on to give the history and many uses of velcro. Glad I watched all of it.

I would say so. Think about where consumer adoption was before it was announced that the iPad wouldn't have flash. Everyone was scrambling to get Flash ported to their mobile platform (Android, WebOS, BB). Apple was able to draw a line in t

This is coming via brightcove, a company that handles video for some pretty big clients (AOL, Fox, GM, A&E). Whatever it takes to get us off flash I'm all for.

While the hardware is incredibly important, the software is what's going to shoot this form factor to the top. I'm sure there will be many imitators that get close to the form factor with lackluster software that brings the overall UX down.

The iPad doesn't really feel like it's developed for me as a tech savvy person (no multitasking, no side-loading, etc.), but I think that's the point. However, the developer side of me is pumped to be able to leverage the unique hardware an

I have a first gen iPod touch, and the (original) lack of copy and paste didn't bother me nearly as much as I would have thought. Now that it's enabled with a software update, I use the feature maybe once every other week. Nice to have, not

I don't understand why they are trying to push 2 proprietary formats on us. You think they would at least try to stick with just one if they weren't going to go with HTML5.

The Olympics should be as open as possible. There has to be some sort of monetary deal between Microsoft and NBC. This really could have been a great time to push HTML5.

I have noticed a similar trend on my college campus. The Mac to PC ratio seems to be about even. It's a brilliant strategy for Apple to target students. Get 'em hooked young, get 'em hooked for life!
