Wow, why? HN isn't 4chan. Things like that will lead to nothing more than a worse enviroment for everyone.

Individual contributions cause redistribution. Did you think charitable organisations or just government?

Looks cool but maybe overengineered? I don't know about college students in the US, but German students live pretty cheap in shared flats. I pay 350 Euro for my share of an inner city Wilhelminian apartment house. It goes down to maybe

That's not practical. The plans would've been leaked and people would've tried to take advantage of it. The idea that a parliamentary decision would have been better than one from the cabinet because the legitimating chain wo

I feel like I've read a pamphlet. With enough enthusiasm most structural changes can be interpreted as politically driven to spin opposition. Look at the stretch he made just to suggest Thiel might be sexist. Or that he somehow connect

I can't talk about the interface but for people who don't have an account there, this website is absolutely hostile. (think: much worse than most) I'm a calm person but I needed serious gmail filter tinkering to catch all tho

Well.. It's also fair in situations without perfect information. Assuming that as a requirement would render any ethical judgement on real life scenarios unusable.

Because it's a power game. Power is naturally capped (like land); shifts therefore don't increase the amount of power in the game.

Probably because it is insanely unreasonable for many to go through all the hassle for a few flights. I don't spend too much on flying but even twice the price wouldn't bring me to churn credit cards, save all the credentials, wat

I know what you are talking about, but: The term "force" is utterly missplaced in this scenario. ..also: Most in the civilized world have broad welfare benefits for those who decide not to work.

This "force" to work is even stronger if you aim for a Helicopter. Helicopters are so expensive, they force you really hard.

You can make it a general law with a different focus and then you alter it with a court. This is a non issue in contemporary democratic procedures.

I am not using ads since somewhere mid 2009. For me they couldn't be less related to advertising. This is why I see them as a tech company.

Just that history, other than logic, won't help people to solve problems. At the end of the day, every historic fact ruthlessly stretched into some assumed future is a risk for the people relying on unjustified assumptions.

Being force to work is not the same as the need to work to fulfill personal needs and goals. That is one key difference between slaves and early farmers.

Redistribution is not a zero-sum game. With every redistributional loop, politics get influence they can convert in votes, power, etc. ..and this is not cynism, just regular public choice.
