We are affected by this mistake because we are socialised to be offended and outraged by labeling we perceive as offensive. We do this to substitute an impossible external enforcer (of common norms) with an internal, distributed one. It is

I mostly use ublock with many lists and a few custom filters/rules for services I don't like. I don't want pages to appear broken. Therefore no Noscript etc.

With Chrome, the full page is already rendered while there are still resources to load. This makes load times mostly on par with my brains content capturing speed. If that's the articles point, I don't see it.

With rightly adjusted content filters, the web today is blazingly fast. The NY Times loads in under 2 seconds, the most popular German news provider (spiegel.de) in roughly a second. No external sources loaded. Very heavy pages like Google

Not in the cities where I live. They generally park in specific hubs made for them by city planners in front of strategic places like train stations, hotels etc. It's Germany though..

No. I drive twice. And while I do that I'm stuck in the traffic and search for parking lots. No way everyone driving in their own car is somehow better for the environment than a specialised subset of carholders.

But with limiting taxis you increase the amount of cars on the streets, aren't you? People probably won't stop traveling because there are no free taxis. They jump in their own car.

Not only themselves but drivers and customers too. Uber, their drivers and their customers benefit from not being covered by those labor laws you're talking about. It's bad for politics and the traditional taxi industry because th

I seriously don't know: Is that somewhat out of proportion? I could imagine the aggregated Taxi lobby being represented somewhere close to that. It's after all a highly regulated market.

It doesn't. But trade requires calm politicans. Those aren't calm if people aren't calm. And people aren't calm the moment TVs don't get bigger anymore. That's what makes them angry.
