It happens even faster if you consume it and block all ads embedded. And sometimes there are even hidden gems between crap content!

The exact bundleware you describe is a badware risk, no matter for what reason it is designed. It is badware since you would not install it if the installer did not trick you, and it is a risk since the bundling bets on your inability to ca

It's just a catchy phrase designed to sound shocking as it suggests some opaque objectification. Obviously you don't need to "be the product". Selling a shortcut to a bit of your attention makes a lot of money, too. Edit

This is what I thought as well. WhatsApp asked me for money a few times but wasn't overly bullish about it after I ignored it for a few days. Not using WhatsApp isn't any obstacle as everyone seems to have a few messengers. I just

My newsfeed experience drastically improved the minute they allowed to disable generic this-happened-x-years-ago posts. That said I think it's reasonable to assume that some further control mechanisms for the user might make a better e

I think - if i didn't misunderstood it - the uBlock Origin author came up with something like a resource library for exactly that reason. Sadly I can't find a explainatory page on it right now; a possible resource file is located

Uncompressing can be a major mental burden too. I'd rather read a real sentence instead of a 140 character string with various opaque shortenings.

I don't know if I am somehow particular guilty of creating factions. Look at this thread or most of the links posted on Facebooks initiative. They are all unbelievable biased and political. (From both sides!) There is little to no actu

While I am generally in favor of free basics, I believe this platform argument to be one of the better. Don't know why you are downvoted, though. Maybe for the "isn't bad for users" half sentence.
