Is it all that different from indexing for search? That does not seem to require a license from the copyright holder under U.S. law (but other countries may treat as a separate exploitation right). If indexing for search is acceptable, then

I think it's a reference to Google's book scanning product, which is structurally similar: they use copyrighted material to provide a new kind of service, which contains an echo of the original material. The book scanning and the

In the future, these games could come with their own nested game stores, bypassing the platform store. It wouldn't be an issue for Microsoft because they own both games and platform. It might be tough to accept for Sony.

Haha, it's already merged. I should have run “git pull” before writing my comment. The “Dumbest possible strategy” comment is already gone, and appropriately so. This is one reason why invokedynamic is so interesting: it is possible to

If the entire page is 50 KB, it think within five minutes, it can be served 20,000 times over typical commercial broadband (assuming 30 Mbps net capacity)? 20,000 requests can't really form a huge spike. Most personal-ish sites won

For a piece that warns of homogenization, it's rather unoriginal, even down to the historical inaccuracies. (The early internet was not a “place where anyone can say anything“, it relied on the NFSNET backbone, whose policies banned ma

OCaml is a much larger language than SML. SML feels cleaner in some ways. For example, it has overflow checks (or infinite precision) for integer arithmetic. (Although OCaml no longer has writable string literals …) SML has multiple, mostly
