Maybe the automated plane cannot do all those things, but on the other hand it will not dive itself into a mountain because it is feeling very sad.

I think the point of this would be to protect the EU IT market from American IT monopolies. Because currently EU is completely dependent on the USA when it comes to IT software and architecture, which is becoming a real problem. China'

Those gardens with pretty flowers and bushes are not the natural habitat of the insects. They look diverse but are in fact as sterile as a monoculture field. Insects thrive in the unkempt parcels between fields where man never goes, and tho

It is a small proportion of the population (5-10%) but it has a disproportionate effect because they take up the space that previously remained wild because too impractical to farm, and there was not that much of it.

I think part of it is also the upper middle class moving out of larger cities, and buying a house with a big garden in the countryside, and then turning the garden into a sterile architectural monument.

At the bottom the tube has scoopers to bring the grain inside and those need to move trough the grain. If you keep the tube static the grain would need to go inside by gravity alone and I guess that does not work as well

The problem with Taleb's argument is that, as the linked article shows, IQ tests are as good measure of intelligence as of unintelligence. There is no inflection point after which IQ stops correlating with wealth. The slope is constant
