Depending on your hardware, you may be able to utilize Looking Glass[1]. It’s software for running games in a virtual machine that has a dedicated graphics card. I do not meet the requirements myself (and will not anytime soon with current

If you feel that the existing images (of lxc-download?) have too many bugs for your liking, you could also try the classic templates, which use debootstrap and the like to create the rootfs.

I’ve been using LXC as a lightweight “virtualization” platform for over 5 years now, with great success. It allows me to take existing installations of entire operating systems and put them in containers. Awesome stuff. On my home server, I

I’d argue that Keycloak is also Auth as a Service. Even if you may be hosting that service yourself. If you only have a single web application (yes, that still exists) you don't need any of this. Use your backend framework's "

I also have an X220. An X220 Tablet though. An all-around embarrassing device. Sure, the form factor was correct, but everything else was not. Should’ve just returned it. The keyboard is not firmly seated inside and bounces around, resultin

I have like a gazillion computers (desktops, laptops, tablets, phones). There’s the right time and place for everything. It’s just that tablets are perfect for consumption (reading books, comics, web pages, videos, …). I was very skeptical

Why not do it? I have a gallery of three unused displays. They’re my backup now if anything goes wrong. I recently had to use one of them too, until I could repair my (also old now) 27″ display.

The title refers to SPAs, a frontend technology. But most of the identified pain points are not about SPAs at all. Well okay maybe the first two or three, but they’re very superficial. Instead, this is more about serverless vs. “classic bac

For security reasons I recently encrypted some of my ZFS home server (including the OS SSD). Throughput took a severe hit, because the CPU (Pentium G630) does not support AES-NI. However, day-to-day operations (also CPU load over time) rema

This system isn't an EMP system. It heats the target until it disintegrates. I think the rockets it has to defend against are already as low-tech as possible, too.

I very much doubt this is effective against ICBMs. It'll be a ground-based system. ICBMs are just too far away, too much air in between. It's not a question of technology. It simply cannot be done from the ground.

Lead acid batteries are heavy, they are large, they don't like heat, they don't provide as high currents, they can't take as many cycles. They are not an option here. E-Bikes are already too heavy and bulky.

Good luck with that. For home accounts, you’re tied to GoDaddy. Or rather Microsoft via GoDaddy? Who knows. I would NEVER use GoDaddy after reading various experiences around the net. Also, no aliases. Are multiple domains even possible?

Yes, as it should be. There are no enums. Instead, you can pass in any of the documented strings (or whatever the base type is). Even inside TypeScript, an enum is really just a union type on steroids. When you expose TypeScript code to Jav
