Just FYI, I don't think any of the claimed heated threads were captured by the internet archive's sweeps. There were a couple linked to post-fork which were either archived too early, too late, or not at all. disclaimer - I am one

The original upstream was more or less a monorepo of several subprojects. The fork only involved the session manager, so the other pieces were removed from the forked repository.

For those interested, the linux audio consortium mailing list has archives available at: https://lists.linuxaudio.org/archives/consortium/ I see mentions of LAD mailing list archives elsewhere in the comments sect

I just clicked around for a while seeing mostly dead repos IIRC. If you want assistance for reviewing the age of a load of repositories I was looking into a commit metric similar to what's mentioned in the github thread. Example output

This sounds somewhat similar to something I've seen other coworkers of mine go through. From my reading, it seems like most of the pressure described is coming from yourself rather than external sources. Of course I'm not observin

Is it? The documentation ( https://github.com/up-for-grabs/up-for-grabs.net/blob/gh-pag... ) is verbose, but that appears to be an attempt to lower the barrier of entry. Each PR to add a new project seems to

I'd support purging inactive projects in order to make the process easier for prospective contributors. Ideally there should be some specific rules that projects can use to see that they'd be filtered. It doesn't look like up

Feel free to call me cynical, but do low level employees want systems like this? I've seen a few spacial chat systems pass through HN in the past few months. From a pure social application standpoint both spot and other options seem to

Honestly the transition from data science to software engineering has seemed like an easy one to me. As long as you have language proficiency in the area you want to go into it's a much lower bar (on paper at least). In my past job hun

It's totally possible to have good job postings. Just state a realistic salary range rather than "competitive", explicitly list benefits, and throw some quantifiable statements about work culture into the mix. It should be po

It seems like seaborn would be a step backwards if you're looking for fast plotting. Perhaps I got the wrong impression, but this month I spent some time helping a coworker migrate to plain matplotlib as the seaborn plots were taking m

I'm personally pretty weak with the web stack work, so I've never had a long term open source project where a SaaS model made sense. Feel free to discount my opinion as I'm not the target audience of your project. The landing
