Off topic. What do you mean by "if he was born to Libya"? Does it imply prior existence? The official theory is that we are created during those 9 months, assembled like cars, and if so, he couldn't be born to libya because t

There's a "clear cache and storage" button in the devtools, but the user interface may not have it. Regardless, JS is necessary to access storage, so no JS - no storage.

Well, you'd selectively enable JS if you really need that site. Clearing the cache and storage should be enough.

Anything short of uBlockOrigin/uMatrix with JS disabled won't work. Not only you need to block cookies at the uBO level, you need to block JS because it can write cookie-like IDs to persistent storage such as indexeddb.

Well, I'd welcome the idea of once a year total shutdown for a couple weeks: no cars, no economic activity, except maybe hospitals and other infra. That would be a sort of worldwide retreat. I still remember how clean the air felt the

Another interesting experiment is the effect of strong magnetic fields on crystals: when the field is turned off, is there something left in the crystal, e.g. a certain motion pattern of crystal nodes?

Rising expectations doesn't increase the pool of high quality men and polygamy, unlike marriage, doesn't provide a safety net. I also bet that few women will want to follow the path of lonely competition. Men do it because they ha

It's just general distrust to media companies that like to invent news. I don't know much about the situation with colleges in the us otherwise.

At the very least we need to see enrollment rates per social class and college type. It's very likely the article makes news out of a mundane thing that boils down to a new counting scheme.

It's manageable if you have a business partner so you two could alternate in running things and you'll have to slack off at work to release energy for the side gig. Also, beware that your employer might try to get a piece of your

That's a clever observation. To put it simpler, a dictator is a magnet that aligns individual resentments of citizens. People can't align resentment themselves without an external guide. But loneliness isn't the cause of rese

This "tulpa" thing looks similar to the standard meditation practice, which is imagining a small buddha, not as a statue, but as an alive, though still, being. Given the nature of the topic, it's not a stretch to mention that

I've seen a clever mathematical trick that derives the Schrodinger equation out of GR. As you know, there's this invariant interval thing: ds2 = c2 dt2 - dx2 - dy2 - dz2. The trick was to add a small oscillation multiplier to ds2,
