Academics can't really research this subject if they want to remain employed, but that doesn't mean the patent lies.
- ksaj 6y agoPretty much. It isn't worth continuing studies into a particular future-tech if it isn't patented, as someone who happens to hear about it through whatever means can steal it from under them, making all initial investments useless to everyone except the copycat.
