I am another person that also avoids all monthly payments. Even yearly payments I always disable any recurring fees immediately after sign-up. I will decide when money comes out of my bank account, how much I am willing to pay, and whether

I always thought coded signs that also emit some sort of signal to match would make the most sense .. and some sort of consortium to set standards. Then you could zone off areas that are designated safe for self-driving, among other things.
