Yeah, I think what it comes down to is AI can be another tool in the artist's toolbox to create novelty, but by itself it is incapable of doing so.

Political will doesn't directly equal majority vote, for better or worse. There are factions within an electorate that matter that can imbalance even with a small contingent of the population changing their support. A guy's distri

To be fair, most commercialized music is formulaic, the only difference is that people had to be paid to record it. I think the biggest problem with AI generated stuff is that the I in AI is hype, these things can't create real novelty

I had a realization a while back: nobody sells products anymore. Even the products are part of a marketing campaign. Think of this. Burger Joint comes out with a new burger. They advertise it endlessly, you go to the joint and buy one and g

There are a lot of things that we do that wild animals and wild people don't do, and a lot of things they do that we don't do. If "do what they do" were a panacea we wouldn't be living like this in the first place.

Taxes were, up until the 80s, how the government controlled inflation. They run a deficit and print to spend (or more accurately, borrow from the fed who prints), and then they tax to remove some of that from circulation. Now they don'

That's democracy for you. The government is the solution to all ills, if enough people want a rule then the rule becomes real. Parents are the government in a democracy. I'm partial to a republic, a set of difficult to change rule

Those are all sensible things to do, but at the end of the day we are talking about kids not learning the material they're taught. I'd like the material to improve too. Our government creates a very bureaucratic society and then t
