I can't stop thinking that content moderation is a lost battle at this point. Roblox seems to be at the deep end with "F moderation, squeeze the profits" approach, but it feels like the only safe way would be to simply avoid

Disagree. I'm willing to throw heaps of hard earned money to recover my time spent being bothered by such problems. I researched and tried many "premium" brands, with minor exceptions they proved to be planned for obsolence t

I can't describe how much I hope something comes out of it. Not because I have some illusion of this tackling corporate greed, or helping the environment - devices will likely become more expensive and bulkier as a result, supply chain

Maybe, but I'd theorise a big part of the outsourcing trend has reached its economic conclusion by now. I started my career in Poland, just before the foreign startups decided it's an interesting market to outsource to. A number o

It's incredibly hard to deliver bad news with the right tone. The objective is to deliver precise, true information, and have people go and think (not guess) what's the impact on them. Conversly, it's really easy to sound as

I now have most of my adult years learning how to construct a phrase that gets the right results for Google, and later Assistant. It got to the point where I'm certain it must be a headache for whatever team is trying to support natura

Holocaust involved death of 1-11 million people (depending on sources and who you want to count). Not a fan of government's current approach, but Boris shouldn't grow a pencil moustache just yet.

I wouldn't be surprised if you could chase someone for gross negligence, if it was a result of, for example, consciously prioritising features over security, or "I know the rules but they are BS" thinking. You can do that wit

I live in London and commute 10 miles each way daily. It takes me ~45 minutes in rush hour. Driving the same distance is, in the middle of the night, 30-40 min (in rush hour you can be stuck simply until it's over). Total cost is also

Colobot, released in 2001, was a game like this. You used a C++-like language to program robots as an astronaut on a planet somewhere.

I'm a man and it's totally not OK. For me this is a proof of having no basic respect for >50% of people for very shallow reasons. Having jerks at work is a net overhead (regardless how brilliant).

This is more or less how spam was almost solved in 2006 by Blue Frog [1]. Instead of trying to fight the spam distribution, they fought people who buy spam by contacting them directly for every email sent to them by users. The resulting DDo
