Fair enough, you're young. I'm impressed, by the way, you seem very intelligent for your age. Kids are getting more eloquent and forming critical thinking earlier, internet is amazing. This isn't severe schizophrenia, this is just plain rel

Actually, I don't see this guy as really being mentally ill. He's a mad scientist, dude wrote an OS. That's what happens. If any one of you pushed through on your startup past the point of hope (like a lot of the posts on here recommend by

I mean a sly ex-cop/PI is going to pose as a delivery guy and wake the kid up at 8AM after he feels safe and gets sloppy, and get him on camera agreeing that he doesn't really own the place. Something like that is my guess. There are a mill

As a developer, I don't dislike this guy. He is investing his own experience-based career skills into the bargain, which is a whole lot better than guy-with-idea-wants-half.

Good for him, hope he holds onto it. He'd better start researching persuasion techniques, bet they hire some ex-cops to social engineer him into slipping up.

Pfft. Any game site worth their salt would have negotiated the embargo period on releasing the "news" before providing this free advertising in exchange for those addicted fanboy clicks. Real journalism is the advertising industry now. "Rea

Oracle JVM is based on OpenJDK now. The difference is in the IcedTea plugin, which is lacking a lot of features.

The sarcasm was more referring to the fact that Java (and to some extent Flash with Alchemy VM stuff) is already the best solution for cross-platform native sandboxing in the browser. (If Oracle improves on the updates, that is, and I'm sur

Easy, write a mobile operating system that uses Java for all the apps- then license that to hardware OEMs until you've got a stranglehold on mobile OS, like the Microsoft model on desktop. I am saddened that Google didn't buy Sun. Maybe the

I am doing some research, apparently this is only for the online JRE install, and it's been there since 2011. Sun JRE install once peddled OpenOffice and Google Toolbar, but at least OO is better than Ask. Ugh. They need to get rid of this,

I won't cut them slack on their update process, they should have improved that by now. I don't think being poor or not matters, Java is a gigantic codebase and throwing money at a team doesn't make them code more efficiently. They are doing

Browser native functionality wouldn't be cross-platform or even standardized between browsers. What we really need is some kind of native virtual machine that can run cross-platform bytecode in the browser. Someone should make a plugin for

This I am genuinely annoyed with. I am going to start a petition to Oracle for these points, the Java community is extremely large and valuable and it's a disgrace to treat the platform this way.

That was actually a pretty fast response, considering the behemoth Java is and that the team is fractured since the acquisition. Things will get better, the websites are not even fully transitioned yet. Wish people would cut Oracle a little

That's correct, I am not looking for communication. I am simply frustrating your ability to make a valid argument. Inevitably I can use this tactic to persuade you to do something for me.

I don't have to make a point, I just have to cut down your argument with some evidence you agree with. This is how you con programmers into writing programs for you. I have watched it happen half a dozen times now.
