> I wonder if NASA could start to adopt SpaceX like approaches? Where one doesn't try to get everything correct before acting? This seems so ridiculous in the abstract. Like, what is that exactly supposed to entail in the context of

Exactly. Neither firm would have been (successfully) sued by their shareholders for failing to make significant profits, so let's not blame on capitalism what is instead the individual greed driving these decisions. In fact, OpenAI is

If you think my point was really about the number of "things" then it's you that is lacking in imagination, or more likely also reading comprehension. LLMs already stand to decimate the culture, what does it matter after that

Hard to imagine the difference between a dystopian future is whether or not Claude does this one thing as opposed to all the other things it does (completely eviscerates the arts and culture).

Yes. There does not seem to be any dispute that it is a copy. The questions have been "is this copying okay, because it falls under fair use?"

It's horribly in bad faith. There's no guns here. Never once in my years of copyright litigation, law school, etc, did your scenario come up and it is not relevant to any considerations being made here or by courts currently.

>Can't one argue that because they had to jailbreak the models, they are circumventing the system that protects the copyright? Probably not with credibility as the jail does not exist to prevent copyright infringement.

>The defense to training with copyright is that it is the same as how humans learn from copyrighted material. Yeah, it's something people say but it is severely lacking in evidence and credibility.

But they aren't addressing it. They just outright ended USAID without any regard for any of the things you continue to type. Addressing it would be to provide the functions without the IC.
