If you knew any of the people involved in pushing the agenda that lead to the policy, you wouldn't be so quick to discount the view that this is a malicious act.

The problem that needs to be solved is support availability through telephone and email channels. There's no reason for companies to force their customers to sit on hold and there's no reason to drive them through complicated voic

Two things: - a GPS lock can easily be defeated by the earnest with a GPS simulator, about a $2k fix. This isn't a great solution for the honest buyer, but anyone with ill intention could easily activate these in Kansas and re-export t

What makes me absolutely, terribly sick is the extent to which the USG waves its hands to dismiss the seriousness of the extent and reach of the NSA's domestic data gathering activities and at the same time deciding that Swartz's

My advice is this: You and your co-founders should each take a couple of days (separately, not together) off, away from the office, in some quiet contemplative place (most hotels in America fit the bill) where you can each do some thinking

I've found that the notion of the "Ideal Customer" is only useful when I'm able to line up the expectations of that customer with what our product can actually deliver. When I've been able to refer to that customer

I read this story and I couldn't help but think about the actual extent of the pressure that was brought to bear on Aaron Swartz and whether or not there's a lot more to that story than we've been made aware of.

No. In fairness to the operators though, I tend to think of these just like any other startup - they don't need my support for their business plan in order to give it a shot - so long as they can fund it and find customers, who am I

Interesting. What is "Style management" in this context? I'm assuming the ability to modify a style once and have it applied to the whole document?

I'm kinda surprised to see this. I'm a big iWork user and I didn't really miss any of the features they took out. I mean, not having those features didn't affect my ability to do my job, so I didn't really know if t

I've followed this story since the beginning and I'm more convinced than ever that Flint would have eventually killed himself on his bike, with or without Strava. This article makes it exceptionally clear that Flint is a classic &

The biggest suggestion I could offer would be to give your potential customers a reason to use it - ask them a question on the conversion page that qualifies them as a customer - i.e. "Want to spend your money more effectively?" o

"Rapid takedown" was foisted on us in 1999 when the original registrar agreements were being negotiated at ICANN. At the time, it was held out as a threat - agree to rapid takedown, or be subject to US regulation. At the time we d

Nope, Paypal only eats the risk if they release funds. They rarely release funds on high risk accounts, at least not without retaining a rolling deposit.
