I don't know why but I find it really hard to read on this site. I'm not dyslexic, but by chance I was reading quite a lot of this font over the weekend, printed, and found it no issue - I barely noticed. Here however I find it m

It didn't work zooming in past city-level for me, I'm guessing that's a limitation of the prototype? The flags were an interesting choice instead of country names. I can see how this could be easier to parse than denser count

Would you, under immediate threat, be able to locate and destroy the memory chips—and specifically the memory chips—on your phone? If they're prepared to lock you up for 10 years, they're prepared to do some serious digital forens

When the majority of vehicles are electric, I can see the case being made for all vehicles to have noise-emission limits. Noise pollution is a serious health issue in cities, and could be a new target once emissions pollution is largely tak

I don't care how it happens, but the day petrol mopeds are completely phased out will be a very happy one for me. Being woken up by a loud scooter deliverying pizza late at night is a continual annoyance. Electric mopeds presumably mak

American cities are built for cars - there's no way around that issue. To navigate cities you need some sort of powered transportation vehicle, outside of a few just-about-pedestrian-navigable areas downtown. Don't punish cars,

I was fed up with Google increasing insistence on pushing crap onto my home screen. The unavoidable news feed was the last straw. I have now installed Nova Launcher and it's made my phone great again. No Google crap on the home screen

I hate MacOS and the way it's getting worse every release, but I don't hate it nearly as much as Windows, and how much Windows is getting worse every release.

I've been working with Django for almost my whole career, since 1.1. It's a joy to use, and blows any other web framework I've used out of the water when it comes to actually just building stuff. Django is a fantastic boring[

I would argue it's less about this and more about the power to dictate narratives at a broad scope. Facebook, Twitter and YouTube etc. have all been single points of failure in this regard: targeted, sustained efforts—probably by natio

Good. The point of GDPR was to hold companies more accountable for the data they hold. I'm glad that it's achieving what it set out to do. Hopefully this will make companies think of data as a liability as well as an asset.
