Why is it a direct conclusion that the investors want dollars? it's currently the only system that is available to Coinbase within the US and they're utilizing that. What is stopping the investors from buying back in with the doll

If there was an alternative option allowed by the SEC in the US, I'm certain that they'd have chosen that. This is not a cut and dry conclusion (that the investors want dollars).

Since there is a good chance you have not read the details within stokr.io, I'll offer some details, this is not just for retail investors, there is a minimum required investment in most projects, for example: https://stokr.

The banking system is just a part of the puzzle. What makes a particular fiat currency the banking system valuable? Zimbabwe had a banking system too, why isn't their currency worth as much as the US dollar?

This is misleading, why are you using "transactions per block"? that's an incorrect metric, because blocks will get mined regardless of the number of transactions in it (in fact, you can batch WAY more transactions into a blo

Sure, locally, those principles work, because you see and interact with the people often. But on the internet, it doesn't work, that's where I was going with "unscalable", I'm not claiming that you have to ditch &qu

I'm sorry, but I don't think you understand bitcoin mining at all. Bitcoin mining is not just "making currency", the miners get a reward for minting a block, which is just a bundle of transactions. The new bitcoin they g

Unfortunately, that is not scalable. Even within academia, there is a lot of proof of work going on, it is a very natural phenomena if you look deeply enough. Consider some area of academia, you have to come up with a hypothesis, test it, c

I get the "worse" comment, but not the "even worse" one. The system is NOT incentivizing people to join and waste electricity, the returns are diminishing for mining (and it gets worse every 4 years), the amount of up-fr

Mining bitcoin does convert electricity into value though (it's just O(1) as you said it, doesn't scale with more electricity added). Mining bitcoin allows you to exchange value on the network, THAT is what is valuable.

PoS is not as good as you make it seem. It will create an unbalanced system where the "rich" people get to control the system, this is not what bitcoin is about.

How can you convert excess electricity from a hydroelectric power station (which the downstream grid can't handle) into energy for justic/police/law systems? I'm curious.
