The 20mm profile also comes in multiple widths and double thickness combinations, so there is indeed a 80x20mm profile (4x1). Also, it’s 1 and 1.5 inch t slot, not 20mm. Weird name indeed.

The bug relies on undefined behaviour in the C language, but it’s exploitable is due to the way memory access operations are written in C. Equivalent Rust code would not be exploitable at a language level because that type of raw pointer ar

And the Window 7 fresh install conundrum, how do you install wifi drivers when your laptop only has wifi and no ethernet? I also have a vague recollection of needing to install windows 98 from a floppy disk boot, then upgrading to windows X

That’s a neat looking trick, will have to see how well it works in practice. I can’t see it working too well if you need to feed the wire into a through hole. My trick is to tin the joint and the wire, apply no-clean flux to either the join

Don’t mess with a Cassowary. Fairly rare to see them in the wild outside a few places, but they give no grace. The ones in captivity will 100% have a go at you if you get too close to the fence.

Modern sensors seem to quite useless with something able to crunch the numbers, so this is becoming increasingly common. TI’s mmWave sensors (IWR series) incorporate a top of the line C674x DSP core that is clocked at 600MHz.

If something becomes important or necessary, the entire document would be leaked, or relevant sections documented. Thank you Scihub and libgenesis. The more likely outcome is the specification will become its last version. If the spec isn’t

I would say that patents and copywrite are orthogonal. A patent, hopefully, captures a truely new and original idea. Where as as copywrite encompass actual work. One huge problem with patentable ideas is that the idea should not obvious to

CRTs were all 4:3, and had better specifications than the LCDs of the time. Back then LCDs also followed PC standard 4:3 resolution. It wasn’t until LCD tech was cheap enough for mass production in TVs that 1080p monitors became the norm.

Offline, air gapped, and limit control at gateways. Is SCADA security really that hard? If it absolutely has to tap into you company’s cloud based SAP, make the interface hardware enforceable supervisory only?

I love solvespace, the UI is quick, minimal and easy to come up to speed with. I use it as a 2D parametric sketch pad, for 2D designs for laser cutting, making 3D models for kicad, and a few basic 3D printed fixtures, but it is in no way a

I wish they advertised it more! That reduction in annular pad plus the inner player geometry is a game changer. Effectively any 0.8mm pitch bga is completely prototype-able now.

The best reference I can point to is the Xilinx bga pdf in google. Basically, for given capability (geometry really) there are only certain ways of breaking out pads. You can either fit multiple (luxury of process), one, or zero traces betw

> Well... that's not necessarily true. For instance, even the cheapest 2-layer process that JLCPCB offers is capable of 0.127mm tracks spaced 0.127mm apart... which means you can lay down tracks at a minimum of 0.254mm apart. That&#

By that I mean how IO is coupled to the processor. In AVR8 (and other older processors I presume) GPIO access was via a CPU register, thus a single instruction (one clock RISC) can directly modify the GPIO state. Every GPIO implementation I

Power OK signals are used to prevent latch ups in silicon due to power glitches. The signals will route to power management ICs to ensure a full reset with proper bringing up of the power rails on any power glitch.

Much more limited capability wise, but much tighter guarantees about latency. More like a 80Mhz AVR 8bit than an ARM coprocessor. The real shame of modern microcontrollers is the decoupling of peripherals and GPIO from the main processor. I
