Pseudonymity and anonymity are not the same thing. Pseudonyms that are not trivially created and discarded can build reputation and will generally behave themselves (see Urbit’s approach to this problem). Anonymous accounts incentivize awfu

It's wild to me that no other car manufacturers have taken Tesla up on their offer for supercharger access. EVs without supercharger access are strict city cars. The electrify america network sucks, non tesla range is mostly bad (with

You make bets on where the puck is going, not on where it currently is. "How would a city with tens of thousands of HDDs transition to SSDs in the near future?" It happens over time as products move to compete. Client side machine

My prediction is x86 is dead. External GPUs will remain and I think Nvidia has an advantage in that niche currently. The reason stack ownership matters is because it allows tight integration which leads to better chip design (and better per

You might have to bite the bullet and get a mac - I don't see much promise from others in this space. Intel's CEO change may save them, but they're definitely facing an existential threat they've failed to adapt to for y

I think we’re talking about different things. Does this make sense for alphabet? I agree that it does as one of their many bets. Does it make sense for Loon which spun off as its own company under alphabet with its own leadership and its ow

Well a nine year investment in a company to end in failure isn’t what I’d call a strategic success.

I honestly think SpaceX could give those away in developing areas if they had to. But yes, you’re right that being able to use LTE and existing phone radios was a point in loon’s favor.

The general idea of a global telecom is a good one. The strategic failure was not recognizing that starlink’s approach to the problem made way more sense. They didn’t see that as the existential threat it was. Instead they downsized their i
