Not at all. I think it looks deceptively simple so programmers don't waste too much time learning it properly. But you can take up a good book (such as Joe Celko's) and set up a good foundation in a short time.

Frankly, the biggest problem with SQL is that not enough people know it well (and a lot of people think they know it well).

What was the motivation to switch to SAP? Was the in-house solution lacking?

I doubt COBOL is used for ATMs. It's used for batch processing and for backoffice systems.

You need FKs to ensure you don't delete data that's still needed. If your data is important, you have to use FKs. You also need to index your FKs so that the database does not have to do a full table search before you can delete a

You can't now ignore that Israel is the state. And if that is the case, can they treat their citizens like this? How is it different from apartheid?

This is just bizarre and makes no sense in the 21st century. We're long over the monarchy (although we haven't changed the flag, few people know what it stands for). It's just some made-up symbolism from this brain dead react

I think it is probably more of an intracompany issue, not intercompany. I see older people in management who can't deal with remote and younger people who are eager to work from wherever.

For a database, it is pretty easy. I even compile it from source so that I can put it in my directory structure and have multiple concurrent versions. This is a 15 minute job with coffee break while it compiles. And I don't even rememb

So a Russian professor came to teach in the south of Brazil (roughly same latitude as Cape Town). Apparently he had never experienced so much cold. Temperatures are rarely negative, but houses aren't heated.

I think most consumer machines had 16MB. I bought a P166MMX in 1996 with 64MB. The motherboard would max out at 192MB.

The 80s were crazy. In 1981 you got a ZX81 with 1KB of RAM. In 1985 the Amiga came out. Then in the late 90s I remember RAM doubling every year. From about 2010 onwards, things have gotten slower.

Nice. I recently tried a few small distros on a P166MMX with 80MB of RAM. The best one turned out to be DSL. Unfortunately, I could only get wifi using Win2K because of the driver and then IE can't handle current SSL protocols and most

I've been wondering about olive oil. The biggest producers are all around the Mediterranean. Olive trees can live in very dry areas, but I'm sure they can't survive fires. South America is going through a surge in olive oil p
