I shouldn't feed the troll, but: 1) Scoble hasn't started a company. As far as I can tell he jumps from one major corporate sponsor to another. Based on his background I don't think he's qualified to talk about this. Correct me if I'm mi

Am I the only person who doesn't think this is expensive at all ? If you're creating a banking application and cannot extract enough revenue from a user to mitigate a $3 cost per user for a business-critical vendor, you're probably barking

Both myself and my other technical partner switched to mornings and would never go back, this after having been a night person for 15 years I hear that. I used to be a night person too, beavering away until the wee hours. Then I'd sleep

it's different for me since I am also a partner at my "dayjob", so my motivation is very high for both of these projects :) that said, I think it's normal to feel a little drag now and again - whether it's on a side project or your day job.

Don't build in the evening. In the evening, wind down the day, have a beer and plan out how you're going to use two hours in the morning tomorrow most effectively. Set one clear goal. Then... 1) Go to sleep 2) Wake up early (I recommend

I think your reaction is reasonable. In exchange for loyalty to a venue, customers expect and deserve a little "extra", be that in the form of benefits over-and-above, or simply taking extra care to not be rude! If it's a new employee it's

I think a lot of the people saying that customers have no expectations of pro-rating have got the usual $20 per month SaaS pricing stuck in their head. Not all apps cost that. If the app is $299 a month, and a customer cancels one day afte

I'm guessing this is caused by their API rather than this app... but it's actually faster to search Amazon the regular way than it is to use this "instant" version.

it's an attempt to control the PR message. by doing this, they are laying the blame on one person so the media can stop hating Digg and start hating the ex-VP of Engineering who "killed Digg". of course, whether he was actually responsible

don't fall foul to the "SaaS is pure profit!" syndrome. I wrote a little bit about this here: http://yongfook.com/saas-is-not-pure-profit In a nutshell, to get to 200 members you are not going to be operating on 100% profit margins unless

I'm sure the option was on the table to "hold off" but in disaster-mode (which is what this is) one of the board's functions is to restore shareholder faith. They aren't going to do that by sitting around, so decisive action was taken. As
