I dislike Electron as much as the next guy, but that description of what's "native" is IMHO quite arbitrary. Anything using a cross-platform UI toolkit doesn't fit that description, e.g. Qt apps definitely don't loo

That's moving the goalposts. The concern was for the native UI to get abandoned, it isn't. It may, or may not. The existence of the cross-platform version is hardly an indicator. If anything, having only the macOS version limited

So everything that you modified since last commit will get committed regardless? I can't add logging to some file or manually override a config without it getting it committed as there is no staging? Doesn't sound like much of a s

You presented it as a fact, not an opinion, thus my original answer. FWIW, as a general rule, I disagree: say you get to use two pieces of software with the same functionality, shortcuts et. al. for similar amounts of time, the first having

Sure, it's obviously anecdotal. I still don't have any tangible example of podcasts being ad-ridden as a general rule...

Fair - although I'm not big on shifting the blame from people only relying on headlines to form an opinion. That's on them, so-called "clickbait" or not.

To be perfectly fair, unless you count WASM or other compiles-to-JS-but-not-quite-native langs (which, outside TS, are pretty niche), this is the case with literally every language except JS.

I'm fairly active on the Python slack channel, and this very question comes up really often when people ask for help, and in my experience, is basically never meant as disrespectful. As for the small differences in semantics, I'm

You'd probably get the same question from a plumber if you asked him how to plug a pipe in a non-intuitive way. He has no way to know your pipes are laid out in a strange way, and the only spot you have left to add said junction withou

I listen to about ~15 podcasts. All of them have maybe a single 1-2min plug at the beginning, and maybe another at the end. All of them are about 30min or more. I'd definitely qualify the worst case of 28 out of 30 minutes being actual

You often see stuff as simple as a README get out of date. Lowering the barrier of entry to write documentation is hardly a bad thing, but the problem remains that said documentation takes time and work to stay relevant.
