Maybe I should clarify what I mean. I think specialization is useful in some context. Let's say you are a IaaS or PaaS provider of some sort. Then probably your employees will only work on devops and nothing else. I can see that people

These are all integral part of the dev skills. So your point is? I worked in all kinds of companies. The lamest and slowest ones were these outdated thinking ones. The most productive and highest quality products were delivered in those com

Very outdated thinking. As per Martin Fowler's advice if you write microservices you should organize your code around products and use vertical teams. The guy who writes the frontend should be able to write the deployment code for it t

I think similarly important research would be to measure the health impact of these offices. We should make the business world visible/transparent and legally responsible of their impact on human societies.

It's hard to take these articles seriously. Do these psychologists think that the average person's issue is they get distracted 60 times a day on their weekends? Who cares about that??? My problem is that I get interrupted 160 tim

Good for him. I am truly glad for him. But I don't really get the point of this type of articles e.g. `Brace yourself to become a billionaire`, `Watch out for hypregrowth`, etc. OK. I'll watch out. Thanks for the heads up. :D

District Attorney John Chisholm went so far as to rule that "there was no basis to conclusively link Mr Trammell's death to the actions taken by the police officers" - WTF did I just read??? I can't believe it.

Good for him. Although I don't really understand his stance: did he want to be on a social platform because it was `cool`? It might be only me, but I never wanted to be there because it's cool. I joined it because I wanted to keep

That's a nice strawman argument you have there. Nobody said that the proletariat means `not having enough clothing and food`. Not even Marx. Don't try to put words in my mouth. Maybe you should look it up what it actually means. S

I am sorry but I will be cynical here. Does the author know how many shit people give about clarifying and planning things these days? Let alone documenting. ZERO. I worked in many companies scaling from small to huge and in-between and gen

That's why the EU introduced GDPR. So you are legally responsible (and the fines can be pretty steep) if you 'forget' to make the breach public.

I switched to Vscode this year as many emacs veterans did. It's lighting fast. And lightweight. It's a joy to use. I can't imagine a thing much more performant than that.
