got a Fujitsu S740 for about 40USD (used, 2.5 y.o.). It's a thinclient (similar to the T620 below) and as such sadly doesn't have Wifi-onboard (but 1 SATA M.2 and 1 E-Key inside). Otherwise beats any SBC by an order of magnitude p

there is no money for dedicated techs nowadays. Also hiring a competent sysadmin to do on-prem HPC-Linux might prove challenging. And while it is grunt work sometimes (but more so is academic research in lab, which to 90% could be rationali

we just bought the same (-some memory) for 200k dollars. Dark fibre costs maybe USD2000 (hard to come by numbers) per 50miles/per month and then those 4 servers at each location don't really need a fancy server room...

hey - it's using bazel, that makes things great. Well, bazel won't work on your system, because protobuf needs a patch for a new libc. Why didn't you use Ubuntu? Now it builds! Oooh, wait they are vendoring protobuf in tensor

I don't know, but I guess that the intricacies of tax law are written down. And to study that ( https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/1/112b here?) you need to be able to be quite proficient at reading.

Well, to understand tax law, you need to understand language quite well (see another post these days on the frontpage...) - which usually comes with some skills in applying it. It smells a bit fishy, if you claim a person can do the first,
