I had a long winded reply but it got lost and I don't feel like rewriting it. Too long won't rewrite version: Perl6 was conceived in 2000, it still doesn't exist in 2013. For a number of reasons involving competing languages,

That sloppiness is also it's core strength. It allows people without training to slice and dice data. The process is almost never pretty but they're "free" to compute.

If Microsoft wants to play seriously in mobile they need to stick to their roots. By that I mean leverage their superior position in the PC space down through tablets and then into phones. If they can make it so people want to port Windows

Blackberry has 2 major problems. One, they're just not flashy enough to compete with Apple. Two, roll your own OS pretty much dooms you in computers. The network effect for compatibility is just too strong. Blackberry was fine before p

My point was that for the current ISS, you're talking about designing, building, launching, and attaching more infrastructure.

Scaling to sustainable numbers though heat rejection will be a serious consideration. Plants essentially convert light to chemical energy that would then sustain the astronauts. The catch is plants aren't really that efficient. They&#x

I think in this case you have 2 choices. One, you let that employee move on. Or 2, you have to re-enter the group salary discussion. Being dishonest in your transparency would quite probably do irreparable harm to the culture.

If there is pain involved with one option, then it's logical to assume that time will change. When I do get wrist pain, it does cut into how I use my time.

By now, I'd assume the language run times are in the noise for thinking about maturity. The most likely culprits will be the application code followed by the library code. So the real question should be "Are there any big scary mo

Lets assume that I'm switching from Perl5. Why would I switch to Perl6 over something else? Even assuming Perl6 were to be become production ready tomorrow, there is a cornucopia of good languages these days. I'm sure Perl6 can claim to be

If people stop harder, they're more likely to get in an accident doing so. If you don't have ABS, stopping harder increases the odds that you'll skid. Also you're more likely to get rear ended if the person behind you isn't paying attention

I think we're talking about simplification in different contexts. Overtime symbols get simplified. That doesn't restrict the manner in which those symbols may be combined. Nor does it mean that, people won't embellish when they feel the nee

I think it's here to stay in some form. If you think of UI's as a language, it seems a natural simplification of that language. Simplification is a normal and natural thing to happen to a language.
