If this PR would have come from a sufficiently anonymous user (no location / profile picture), I'm sure it would have gone through. I'm certain maintainers don't check identity and nationality of every contributor.

The popularity of “pure black” themes for apps on OLED screens is the biggest counterpoint. When designing dark mode for mobile, please use #000.

It's the game to teach people what technical debt and refactoring is. When you start building your factory, you think about how to get first steps just done (ship it!). Over time complexity and scope of your factory increases, but old

This was the main inspiration! Also, the fact that I couldn't find anyone going through EVERY step of QR code generation manually (even if CPU-assisted) and in detail.

During quarantine I designed a paper-based system for making QR codes by hand. Everything is very papery and bureaucratic, but also fun. Tables to look up bytes, long forms for calculating Reed-Solomon, and even transparent sheets of paper

Particularly for code-related products, not having a dark mode is disrupting. If you run most of your apps in dark themes (IDE, terminal, StackOverflow, etc), having something be light themed can be blinding.

Inter is almost as good as Apple's SF, and with a much more permissive license. It's my default when designing apps for the web. I used to default to "system font stack", but that was always because SF is such a great fo

That's the key insight. It's not Facebook's or Twitter's decisions that have lead to a divisive discourse. It's that given an option to express themselves on social media, people like expressing strong tribalism the

In high school I made a little game with a similar feel. It showed a tower of stones, same for everyone online. To add a stone you needed to hold mouse for about 7 seconds. There was also a massive red button to collapse the tower. The rec

If you can rely on audience being quite technical, IPFS is a pretty good, very censorship-resistant approach. There are some IPFS bridges that make viewing content easier. If IPFS is out of the question, I'd look for hosting services t
