Through my work as a lawyer I have dealt with manufacturing of consumer electronics quite a few times, usually when things go wrong. Most European companies have their products manufactured (assembled) in China. In a small gadget, there are

The damages caused by US agencies* are easily underestimated. It's not just the equipment rendered useless and data lost due to their software. It's also the millions of hours spent by IT departments worldwide battling with infect

AT&T was founded in the 1870s. But it wasn't until 1925 the research activities had gotten so massive that they spun it out in Bell Labs. Apple and Microsoft are around 40 years old, but Amazon and Google are much younger companies

Flying is already such a dreadful thing. Even a one hour flight takes 5-7 hours when you count in all the extras. In my experience, a 1 hour flight like London - Brussels, is not much faster than a 7 hour flight like London - New York. Airp

But even the small counties have populations in the several hundreds or thousands, right? Outliers that die at 33 or 103 affect the average little when you have a population of 2,000.

In many places in the western world, facebook users are some 90 percent of everybody in a certain age group. So if it says anything about Facebook users, it says something about everybody. Facebook is approaching 2B users. Let's say th

In parts of Eastern Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa, Facebook could hire 3,000 college educated employees for less than $3M monthly, including taxes. So while this from a human point of view is a very decent thing to do, it's n

And that's the thing; if the EV doesn't have a range of around 300miles you would think of it as a second car, a city car, only suitable for commutes and shopping trips. Plenty of people have a second car, but I suspect many secon

I agree but would say a 300 mile range is where the tipping point will be for most people, unless we have a much more dense supercharger network. I haven't been driving anywhere near 300 miles in a single day in the last year and I wou
