Yeah it's quite ridiculous. But I bet if they got it the way they wanted we would have separate countries on the internet as well eh? :/

Tells me it can't play because of the region (Norway) and also the text in the player is nearly unreadable with some sort of color distortion.

Why would you actually go with Rails compared to a smaller framework? If all they are serving is JSON wouldn't something like Sinatra be better? Less fancy stuff they probably don't use anyway?

Being Google's flagship phone it probably gets a lot more updates directly. :-) I was considering the Nexus S but ended on a SGS2 because the price here is pretty much the same and the SGS2 is much better.

I used wifi all day at work the past weeks without much problems, but I can understand your frustration if it suddenly eats up a lot of power. After 7 hours idling today my phone is at 81% battery now, but I have only been on the phone for

It is still a ridiculously quick and awesome phone though! I went from a Nokia 5800 XM to a SGS2 and the battery life isn't that bad. I've had the phone last like 24h with decent usage (meaning it was one of the first days I had it). Do you

That looks like a good way of doing it as well but I'm not all that positive to having my phone in bed with me. I occasionally move around quite a bit during sleep and I'm sure others do as well, I don't think my phone would survive that lo

What you mean is that the ridiculously easy passwords have been cracked? Not really a surprise considering they have been out for so long. While I'm glad I do not have a account there they would not have been able to crack my password :-) E

I might be wrong (search turns up nothing), I have seen this before though and thought it came from here (since this is usually where I find my quality reading material). No need to get all downvotey, I wish I had the authors abilities.

Nice work, but doesn't this do exactly the same thing as https://showoff.io/ does? And they linked it here a month or so ago I think. [1] [1] http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2467107

More people should be referred to this when introduced to IRC. Or really you should just be told this by anyone introducing you. There is one thing wrong about the article though: irssi is clearly the best client... X-Chat? Are you mad!? :p

I mentioned this in the comments section of post about blocking bullies. It would be great if you could follow a project or a person without having to see every comment and commit made. I watch around 100 repositories now and some of them a

If you are lucky enough to live in a place with proper internet access it's great for hosting small projects and stuff like that. I have a server in my parents garage, they have a 30/30 (soon to be 60/60 for no increase in price) fibre conn

For some reason I can't respond to your other post, but yeah that makes sense too. Let me know what you end up doing, would be nice to discuss it more :-) I'm on irc a few places (freenode and efnet mostly) if you want.

I don't know how websockets works with varnish though, but you could run varnish on port 80, nginx on 81 and have the websockets hit :81 to get proxied through nginx I guess, you would still get good caching of normal content through varnis

Actually the reason I'm not caching more is due to a bug in Rack. https://github.com/rack/rack/pull/157 Rack seems to not handle session cookies correctly, they are always there even when there is no session set. Varnish does not cache th

Varnish is ridiculously amazing. I use it directly in front of unicorn to host some ruby apps. The performance is just amazing compared to the load avg. No need for a 'proper' web server.

Grinding for gold all day but you never get to keep any of it? That is pure torture. Not only do they force you to play that game for so long all day but they also take away the only 'reward' you get for playing. I would go crazy for sure.
