I don't know how websockets works with varnish though, but you could run varnish on port 80, nginx on 81 and have the websockets hit :81 to get proxied through

I don't know how websockets works with varnish though, but you could run varnish on port 80, nginx on 81 and have the websockets hit :81 to get proxied through nginx I guess, you would still get good caching of normal content through varnish! :)
- StavrosK 15y agoThat's a good idea, but if you can run WebSockets on a different port you can just have it go straight through :p
