That’s due to bayes theorem. If you test people who aren’t like to have caught the disease, and say the test has 1% chance to misdiagnose, you’ll almost certainly create wild amounts of false positives and spark a wider panic.

That’s my point; the OP’s argument that it’s an “either or” between arson or climate change is a strawman. Dried out conditions make initial triggers (like lightning or arson) more likely to have disastrous consequences.

Stop with the strawman. A dryer, hotter climate will cause fires to get larger and do more damage. No one says that a hotter climate will cause the initial burn spontaneously.

Since no one's mentioned it yet: both depression and anxiety are extremely treatable. Regardless of whatever HN folks think is the cause, therapists and psychiatrists are an actual solution; you should see one.

They could but a lot of features would break. The app communicates with a closed source API. Plus, we still own the name and the brand and would likely send a take down if someone didn't remove them.
