Both, in my opinion. From incipient need (rfc, etc) to use-cases, to design specifications, tolerance acceptances, expectation management, support, and finally sunset/archival. If the code is where the “why” is found, those who are the

Agile is a philosophy and methodology, documentation is a component/facet of what eventually gets created by our work, no? I get what you mean now re: “important” though, I appreciate your reply!

I slightly disagree on priority. IMHO documentation comes first and that includes design (data structure and algo) decisions as well as managed expectations. We all want to code. But the fact is - if we want to code correctly we need to

Background: I am a software eng for pay and oil painter by hobby. Been painting about six years now. My advice? Just “do it.” If that means you nerd about oils and easels and tools.. cool! If that means you start out drawing a box (drawabo

“Long term” is not a problem when one makes so much profit in so little time and controls so much market/labor share that they are a tacit monopoly. Bezos’s primary goal is Bezos. Amazon’s is “shareholders”. Meteoric rise in profit i

Really common practice for a lot of artists - iirc, people like Vermeer to Michelangelo to some Impressionists did it as well.

For sure, however… look at the direction of this logic. For fear of an economic change, one is willing to place more burden on the planet and its humans/occupants. Economic change largely means “less profit for corporations” and “more

It really reads like a marketing psyop to convince people to not ditch the cash cows that are social media doom scrolling sites.

Oil paint. It’s SO very good for my mental health. But alas - I cannot afford to do it as much as I’d like. Nor have I sold a painting, to help the process. (Though that’s not my goal.)

Some financial institutions will let people go for a solid two weeks for things like to prevent kiting or keeping other jobs alive that might be handling the various things in the background.

I tend to keep things separate, too. Having little to no socials helps my mental health. If my hobby (oil painting) started to outpace my work (sw eng) - maybe I’d start a site, but thats about it. I have old retired / deleted accts

Yeah. I think that’s the inspiration of the character, but the play, in my “new to Shakespeare” mind, is well done.

Everyone should read “Timon of Athens” - some say Shakespeare’s worst, but it’s my favorite. Whenever I think about lending, or asking for a loan or help (I am terribly short on money and very sad about it) - I remember this story.

“Perfectly fine” and “legal” are different conceptual things. It may be legal, and part of our current system, but I think it is deplorable how easy it is to skirt around paying taxes to support a society.

Correct to question it. The reason is simple: Police units cosplay as military units. (going so far as to call themselves “paramilitary.”) Couple that desire to cosplay with a large funnel of tax dollars going to purchase military purpose

So interesting that we (as humans in a system) can choose to fly snow in so we can keep making money even though Mother Nature is clearly telling is we’ve taken too much. Is there nothing the pursuit of profit won’t exploit?

This is assuming we treat profit as immutable. Which is, I suppose, “rule one” in business, no? And in most cases - hey that’s fine. I disagree but it’s ok. One area where I will always push back is on services that are required for life.

Anything from a corporation saying “fearful” (for your wallet) things like “may cost more to produce(costing you more)” or reduce efficiency (costing you more) etc… Is just reworded excuses as to the corporation’s choosing profit. For they

Thank you for this reply. It’s scary to see how many are so ready to “defund police” by “funding corporate ability to murder” (my quotes re sentiment) - which is what happened with Pinkertons, etc. If those homeless camps have drug problems
