And that's the beauty of the GPL - if you whiny fucks don't like it, fork it.

the problem will be that people you interact with use Google or MS products, then the data leakage happens on their side of the conversation.

and, importantly, check what software you do run. It's only happenstance that the article author found out what was being sent back.

the fantasy would be if we didn't have the secret courts and illegal wiretapping by an administration that promised to be the most transparent in history.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but I'm not sure why you think Rootstrikers is such a bad thing. I read the wikipedia entry but still don't know what you are specifically talking about...

yeah, but when your computer breaks it doesn't pull out a firearm and order you to add drives, a better graphics card, more monitors and a faster internet connection. And then raid your bank account if you don't do it fast enough. Size do

Regardless whether or not people are imbeciles, they still have a habit of abstracting away common knowledge, and then forgetting that the common knowledge exists. I see this all the time in the computer industry. It's good to remind ever

Wow, speaking of comprehension - the last sentence that you quoted emphasizes that I was talking about the weather, in general, not the jet stream. And order of magnitude estimates are about as accurate as a neophyte programmers time esti

It's not a fallacy or a cheap cop out. You're of the opinion that what we know about the weather now is all that we need to know, but it's not. How does the orbit of the moon affect weather? What about changes in the magnetic currents in

either way, adapt or die - I don't know that we can do enough to change the climate, or even if we should attempt it, and make the cure worse than the projections.

or we've been lucky so far with the predictions, or been able to fit our predictions to match the data. This is just PREDICTIONS. it's not settled science - meteorologists have been able to stretch their predictions out to a couple of day

in other words: we don't understand it, but we're still going to blame it on mankind. we can make short range predictions, but still don't know all of the variables that are controlling the climate.

UPS took a chance on me, and I will always hold them in high regard because of it. They hired me after a checkered highschool (and post) employment record. I was able to work my way up and into IT. And it changed the course of my life.

Nice, go straight to calling names. Here, let me restate your main theme: Violence is caused first and foremost by the presence of two or more people. As Disney says, it's a "song as old as time".

I say the response should be pretty simple: a statement that, when the economic damage reaches a certain level, we repudiate all Chinese owned debt. Then start running a countdown.

Ever hear of skinny-fat? That's where someone is at the right weight, but because they do no exercise they have NO muscle tone. It's better to exercise and not have a perfect diet than not exercise and have a perfect diet.

43% of women = 21.5% of total population, 11% of men = 5.5% of total population, so you're talking about approx 27% of the total population are concerned. Bad statistical reasoning is 150% of the problem here. ;)

Isn't it crazy that the more education a woman has, the fewer children she has? You would hope that the more educated would have more, since they would be better able to care for and educate their children. Darwin would get a chuckle out o

Not only that, we can tell by the sound if the cries what they want. For instance, our first child had three cries: bad diaper, feed me, and hold me. I knew exactly what she wanted from the sound of her cry.

compare this to the failures experienced recently with SpaceX: Elon's launch, while not perfect, recovered. I think this shows the power of E's vision, and how he's going to change the launch market.
