No ads either if you set a private ad blocking DNS server.

Is this specific to Next.js app router? The pages router has been quite good to me, but the app router is something that matches your experience.

It's unfortunate as this will take a lot of dev time from a well running project on the page router. Remix certainly looks good, I've done a small project with it and like how actions and loaders work. But it's also less po

Unfortunately I will have to move a significant codebase out of Next.js to perhaps Remix as I run into all mentioned points.

I think Node.js doesn't have a big powerful ORM because the community isn't looking for one. Can't speak of everyone but I take a good query builder over a fat ORM any day.

I'm okay with these high rises so I can enjoy the quiet tranquility of rural Spain. Everytime we do stay in an apartment in Spain the lack of sound proofing really stands out. Perhaps even more so because everything is tiled, no carpet

Maybe Hetzner, Digital Ocean and OVH should band together and create a Next.js or Remix.js clone, promoting a self hosted framework.

Next.js doesn't exclude ExpressJS. It's actually not that uncommon for self hosted Next.js instances to have a custom server setup with ExpressJS.

There is method to subscribe to an inbox [0], but it's unclear to me what this will accomplish. I have a use case for monitoring an inbox and parsing mail based on various headers/content (eg: bounced, auto reply, abuse report). D

I wonder if one could prevent this from happening by using GrapheneOS which can limit things like sim toolkit and Google Play Services. Not sure what avenue Samsung used to disable these phones.

Isn't IE dropped in the upcoming htmx 2.0 release? Not that it's a bad thing, but goes against the superior backwards compatibility claim.

The app router is definitely not a valid alternative for my current projects on page router. I'm glad I'm old enough not to jump on shiny new things and burn myself in the process. I would actually like to take a step back from N

I saw a post here [0] about a more realistic benchmark where Bun got worse performance than Node.js. Just testing the http implementation seems a bit useless. [0] https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=37735029

Interesting findings. I was always a bit wary about just benchmarking the raw http implementation instead of a more real world scenario.

I think app router and react server components optimize for serverless/edge. That optimization comes at a cost that I think is best visible in this GitHub issue: https://github.com/vercel/next.js/discussions&
