I'm convinced both the company wrapping this as an eco-friendly move and the eco blow-back from some consumers to be morally equivalent. I didn't see a mob asking for 30% higher prices so Sonos could actually do proper recycli

Since the existing owner just 'sold' them to Sonos for a 30% coupon and the promise of actually recycling the gear, I'd say no.

Because a trade-in program where you sent the device to Sonos wasn't operationally / financially possible. There are extra costs with doing this in house (or, I guess, by partnering with a recycling centre) which meant the discoun

You are assuming there is a market for used Sonos gear. I pretty much assume it is not. Dismantling and recycling used electronics is what actually happens. Even Apple boasts about their Liam robot to dismantle iPhones... what percentage do

+1 Clunkers are generally functional machines. At least here they don't accept the clunker if you can't drive it in there.

I think Sonos did the right thing by creating Recycle Mode and the over-reaction to this was amazing. Telling customers to just send the bricked device to the local recycling centre in exchange for a discount seems fair. Apple also has a

Sadly Reddit is locking down the personal finance subreddit behind their app so they can monetize it better. I find this article to have interesting timing as the readership on that subreddit must be going way down nowadays.

Based on the data the ongoing cases have been decreasing for the past two weeks: http://covid.410go.net In another two weeks they might have less cases than other regions!

Interesting. I never read news that China cases are actually decreasing and all the charts show the total cases which is flatlining (in China) but not going down. The rest of the world seems to go exponential, otoh.
