To elaborate, this is because of D's Uniform Function Call Syntax ( http://www.drdobbs.com/blogs/cpp/232700394 ) - any function that takes an object as first argument can be called as though it were a method of that object; "map" and "filte

I've only been using C++ for a few months, but it's my opinion that all function parameters should have been "const &" by default (except for maybe primitive types). Const correctness has helped me spot some nasty bugs, and it's too eas

Wolfram Alpha also seems to bail out when a mathematical expression exceeds a certain complexity, which makes it fairly useless for the only thing I want to use it for - evaluating hairy integrals and other long expressions. Or worse, it ju

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the cardinality of the two sets you describe are equal, as there exists a bijective mapping between them, meaning there are an equal "number" of real numbers in both.

Hey, this is something I wanted to build for a while, but never really got around to until this weekend. Please let me know if you find any bugs or if I'm handling a license improperly (IANAL).

L, M, and H are also very useful for vertical movement. My general procedure for navigating (when I don't have anything particular to find), from general to specific, is: Ctrl-f/Ctrl-b, L/M/H, j/k).

I think it comes down to being relatively worse off versus absolutely worse off. Although people today are not worse off absolutely, what normally counts when one determines problems in life is one's relative situation.
