I wouldn’t say it’s “Javascript front-end developers” specifically, but front-end developers in general. Intuitively, I’d say it’s because front-end development sits in the sweet spot between the creative side of the designer (who sets the

I’m afraid I don’t understand your point: I am not trying to compare Flink to Proton’s docker image sizes; nor do I see how it is relevant. In this case, they are clearly talking about the size of the binary as in “executable of the softwar

Honesty, Javascript front-end developers are probably more at risk of “being replaced” by AI than designers. This is probably where this sentiment is coming from.

From the releases page it looks like the binaries are indeed around 500MB (some platforms actually exceeding that); granted, I am not that familiar with DBs, but calling a 500 MB binary “lightweight” is a little stretch…

Spotify’s shuffling is so god-tier bad that I would be flabbergasted if it wasn’t biased towards songs with less royalties to pay out..

I recently encounter this as my ISP upgraded me to 10 Gbps over fiber: the UDM-PRO/SE does/can have a 10/2.5 Gbps WAN port over SPF+, but all the Ethernet ports go over to the COU via the same 1/2.5Gbps interface bottlen

I thought it was Blackshark.AI doing that specific part of Flight Simulator. AFAIK they are, or at least were looking for to, also selling that capability to other companies; and they are certainly not “vendor locked” with MS’s data..

I am not sure I fully understand what you mean by your remark, but I am positive that this is not a situation most “mainstream desktop users” are ever going to encounter.

By lossless they mean “losslessly compressed from source” (FLAC, or likely in Apple’s case ALAC) as opposed to “lossy compressed” like MP3 or AAC streaming services usually use. Wether or not the original recording was done/mastered in

Didn’t the “PIII-450 with 384MB of RAM and 20GB harddisk, GeForce256 and a 17” monitor” gave it away a little ;)? Interesting read nonetheless !

You might be right! This would be hilarious but totally in line with the rest of the tool. Takeaway would be to do the expense reporting when the conversion rates are advantageous!

Fun fact: last year I had to re-input a whole expense report because of a greyed out mandatory field (I wish I was kidding). So I naturally made screenshots of every position to re-enter them. The amount of the second expense report was not

Aren’t Kernel versions tied to device model for Synology? My DS918+ returns “4.4.180+” as its kernel version. That’s pretty.. old? Do/can they downstream some of the changes without changing the Kernel version?

It seems that it was made into a rule but dropped a year later [0] (by the EASA, so in Europe at least). According to the Wikipedia article on Germanwings 9525, even Germanwings dropped that two-person rule a couple of years later [1]. I do

It is interesting how that timelines blames the 30% Apple tax as the reason why they had to up the price to 12.99/mo; but they somehow did not bring it back to 9.99/mo when they managed to go around the tax. I am not defending App
