I took the Ng course when it first came out, but I hope it's been updated since - it was taught in a language I've literally never even heard of outside the course (GNU octave). That said, if you want to understand ML stuff I lear

Worth noting that you can also do this from plain .js files. /** @param { import('./foo.js').SomeType } arg */ function doThing(arg) { // ... } The thing being imported can be a JS

There's a few clunky bits but I hardly ever run into them. Actually since this conversation is going, here's something I just learned this week that somebody might find helpful. I used to consider enums one of the clunky bits, but

Vouched. This is the point of the thing - the typechecking benefits come from running `tsc` on your code (or VSCode will do it for you in the background and show you linter errors if you have typescript installed somewhere it knows about).

Yeah, it sounds like pre-building the worker JS, so it's a static asset when the client does their bundling, is the least-bad option. Thanks!

Hi, I appreciate the advice in general, but in my case it's not an architectural matter. Basically, I just have one internal, encapsulated function that ought to run in a worker, and I'd like to implement that without doing anythi

Web Workers are a really great feature for performance. The way they want the worker code to live in a separate file makes them slightly annoying if you're using a bundler, but each bundler has a loader or similar feature for this, so

As a linguistic category it includes teineigo and set phrases, but when a JP learner says keigo they probably mean the stuff introduced the "keigo" chapters of JP textbooks, which starts with おっしゃる, 下さる, いただく, お~になる and so on. And

I'm mystified by this comment. Keigo isn't some high-level PhD topic, it's used constantly in everyday usage. Even an intermediate speaker needs to understand some, or they'll be unable to follow many basic conversations

Yeah, I'm almost sure there was no html renderer or JS engine in AIR, but you could have pure html apps with no flash in the source now that I think back. TweetDeck was I'm sure, and one other high-profile AIR desktop app was the

Complexity analysis deals with asymptotic cases where N gets arbitrarily large. Sleepsort would take the same wall time to sort [1,2] and [1,2,1,2] - but it would presumably take somewhat longer to sort an array of 1e10 ones and twos, becau
